About Airport of Airports:
Responding to AIRPORT : some flying thoughts… exhibition, Server Foundation will contribute a project entitled, Airport of Airports. Airports are often seen as nodes which process the mass movement of people and where everything in it is organized around the idea of movement . Server Foundation is interested in the information which airports produce from its processing of people, flights, identity and security. Information in the form of airport websites will be the starting point for the project. Airport of Airports will be based on the study and focus of 10 international airport websites.They are: Changi Airport; International Airport Domodedovo; Shenzhen International Airport; Perth Airport; Sans Francisco International airport; Cairo International Airport; Kuwait international airport; Aeroportul International Henri Coanda; Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Tribhuvan International Airport For this project, Server Foundation will invite artists, airport fanatics and all netizens to respond to these 10 airport websites. The websites could be seen as raw materials or a starting point to investigate airport information culture. Works and responses can be in the following format: video, html, flash and image files.

About Server Foundation: The foundation was established in 2006. It was founded in a chatroom on IRC, born out of a discussion about utopia. Server Foundation is an experimental collaborative platform which uses the metaphor of the computer server as a site (both physical and virtual). The project is culturally located in Singapore physically and virtually connected to the world through virtual and physical networks. Other micro-projects hosted by Server Foundation includes: Openbook, Virtual Office and The Wire. Woon Tien Wei is currently the spokesperson and system administrator of Server Foundation. |
